Louis J. DeFidelto, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®
Lou joined The Eagle Group in 2004. He received his undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy and his Master of Science in Finance from Liberty University. He retired from a 20-year career in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserves, having flown over 30 combat missions as an F-15 pilot during the first Gulf War. Later in his career, he flew airlift missions in support of U.S. troops worldwide. “The military engrained the values of Integrity, Discipline, and Dedication that now define my Financial Advisory role.”
Lou is currently a student pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration in Finance, with an initial focus on the effects of behavioral biases on portfolio performance.
Lou received his Master of Science in Finance from Liberty University and graduated with distinction.
Lou is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional (CFP®). The CFP® identifies those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP® Board, have completed financial planning coursework, and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination covering the following areas: the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning.
Lou is a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®). The ChFC® designation has been a mark of excellence for almost thirty years and currently requires nine college-level courses, the most of any financial planning credential. The average study time needed to earn the ChFC designation exceeds 450 hours. Required courses cover extensive education and application training in financial planning, income taxation, investments, and estate and retirement planning. ChFC® designees must meet experience requirements and adhere to continuing education and ethical standards.
Lou is a Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®). For 86 years, the CLU® has been the respected risk management credential for advisors. Designees have completed eight or more college-level courses, representing an average of 400 hours of study time. Topics for required courses include insurance and financial planning, life insurance law, estate planning, and planning for business owners and professionals. Elective courses include such advanced topics as income taxes, group benefits, retirement planning, and health insurance. The American College, a non-profit educator with the top level of academic accreditation, awards the mark.
Lou holds various securities registrations that allow him to offer a variety of products and services to his clients (General Securities Representative — (Series 7), General Securities Principal (Series 24), Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination — (Series 63), and Uniform Combined State Law Examination — (Series 66)). He also maintains Life and Health Insurance Licenses.
